GARDNER- Clyde Marie (Beard) Gallant, of Gardner, passed away at the Quabbin Valley Nursing Home in Athol on Saturday June 9, comforted by her family at her side.
Clyde was born on October 25, 1925 in Fort Blackmore, Virginia, the daughter of the late Orbin and Mary Beard. In 1945 she married her husband Andy and raised her family in Gardner until his death in 2006. Over the years Clyde worked for Robilard’s Pharmacy, Parke Snows and Simplex Time Recorder.
She also volunteered at Head Start in Gardner and Heywood Hospital. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and traveling. Many summers were spent in Wells, Maine with her husband and family.
Clyde is survived by her five children, Andrew Gallant Jr and his wife Patti of Dansville, NY, Patricia Grant of Denver, CO, Mary Gallant of Ashburnham, Jeffrey Gallant and his wife Michele of Greensville, SC, and David Gallant and his wife Emma of Arizona.
Clyde also leaves behind seven grandchildren Joshua, Allison, Erin, Sasha, Kate, Olivia, and Megan, four great grandchildren Frederick, Makayla, Aniyah and Olena.
She also leaves behind her sisters Geneva and Helen whom reside in Kentucky and a sister in law Myrtle Beard of Williamson, West Virginia.
She was predeceased by Sisters Blanche and Lucille, and Brothers Kyle and Bill.
Funeral services will be held at the John H. Mack Funeral Home 91 Vernon Street Gardner with Calling Hours on Tuesday June 12, 2012 from 10:00 am to 11:15 am with a memorial service to follow in the funeral home at 11:30 am. Burial will be in Saint John’s Cemetery, Gardner.
