GARDNER – Richard H Plourde Sr "Sonny", 74 of Gardner, formerly of Leominster, died Monday, January 21, 2013 in Baldwinville Nursing Home.
He was born in Fitchburg on January 8, 1939 the son of Louis and Marie (Bellivieu) Plourde. He attended Gardner High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Navy from 1956 - 1965.
Sonny worked as a fork truck operator at James River Paper Mill from 1966 to 1981.
He leaves four children, Dickie Plourde of Fitchburg, Donna Marasa of Aurora Colorado, Daniel Plourde of Leominster and Diane Plourde of Gardner; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made in his memory to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004.
